Today Year 1 recreated the Great Fire of London in the Forest School area with help from Mrs Plant and Harry. We heard extracts from Samuel Pepys diary written by the children, and sang ‘London’s Burning’ in rounds. The whole row of cardboard Tudor houses was reduced to ashes within 15 minutes! It really helped us to see how the wind made the fire spread so quickly through the narrow streets of wooden houses.
