National Curriculum Tests for Year 2 Children

The Government has published some information for parents about the new national curriculum tests for Year 2 pupils.  You can find this information by following the heading above.

Standards and Testing Agency (SATS) Information

During May, all children in Year 2 will sit National Curriculum tests in English and maths - these are often known as SATs.
At Catshill First School and Nursery, we have timetabled these tests over several weeks.  The tests are not delivered in any way that would cause the children any additional anxiety or stress.  Some children may not even realise that they have taken the tests.
To give you some further information, we are enclosing a leaflet produced by the Standards and Testing Agency and would encourage you to visit  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dVlrdqh_J6Y  and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cuXJidYP7-0 to watch short videos which answer many questions.
Please speak to your child's class teacher if you require any more support.
